DNA - Denys & Antonina

DNA - Denys Drozdyuk and Antonina Skobina are a Ukrainian born ballroom dance duet now living in New York. They participated as DNA on NBC's TV show "World of Dance" on Season 1 and Season 2. They are also USA National Professional Latin Show Dance Champions and 2-Time US National Latin Champions, World Championship Finalists as well as the winners of all major ballroom dance competitions in the United States.

 

Denys and Antonina are also the first and only ballroom dance duet that performs in the concert dance world. They are the first ballroom dancers to ever perform in many prestigious Dance Galas and Festivals around the world, some of which have never seen ballroom dance before. They are also the first and only ballroom dance duet that has ever been awarded a dance residencies in the United States – they received the CUNY Dance Initiative Residency in 2020 and the Green Box Arts Dance Residency in 2021. Denys & Antonina are also the first ballroom dance duet to receive the prestigious NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship Award in Choreography in 2022.

Denys and Antonina also actively participate in concert dance productions, film productions, Galas, Shows, and Theatre productions all over the world. They have toured Nationally as featured Artists with the World of Dance Live Tour, Ballroom Production of Dancing Pros Live as well as with a Ballroom Theatre production of They Called it Rock. They have appeared as Guest Artists on such prestigious stages as David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center, at the Vail Dance Festival, and have also performed as guest artists at numerous Youth America Grand Prix Galas, Gala de Danza Galas, and other Galas including International Ballet Havana Festival "Alicia Alonso", Capezio Anniversary Awards GalaIndianapolis City Ballet Gala, CityDance Gala, Dance Against Cancer Gala,  CTFD Galas, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC, and other notable events. They also frequently perform as part of the "Stars of American Ballet" Troupe in various cities in USA and Internationally. 

Denys and Antonina are known for their unique fusion show dance performances where they incorporate numerous dance styles such as Ballroom, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and other styles. 

Denys and Antonina have dedicated their lives to dance and hope that their art will inspire audiences everywhere.

Denys Drozdyuk

Denys Drozdyuk was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine where he started dancing at the age of 4. From then on he has been continuously trained in ballroom dance. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from the Juilliard School and a Master of Arts Degree in Dance Education from New York University. 

Together with Antonina Skobina, Denys co-founded a collaborative ballroom dance duet “DNA” with the mission to develop Ballroom dance as a performing art. Denys also participated on NBC’s TV show World of Dance for 2 Seasons and was the finalist on TV Show Revolution in Canada. Being a versatile dancer, Denys is also a winner of So You Think You Can Dance Canada Television Show. Some of his ballroom dance achievements include: 3-Time World Ballroom Champion, 3-Time USA National Ballroom Dance Champion, 7-Time German National Ballroom Dance Champion, 3-Time Canadian National Ballroom Dance Champion and a Blackpool Dance Festival Winner. 

 

Denys performs frequently as a Guest Artist with the Stars of American Ballet and in various International Ballet Galas, Festivals, and Productions worldwide. Denys is also the recipient of NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Choreography, CUNY Dance Initiative Residency, and Green Box Arts Residency. He also teaches workshops and master classes throughout the world.

Antonina Skobina

Antonina Skobina was born in Mariupol, Ukraine. She is a 3-Time US National Ballroom Dance Champion and a World Championship Bronze Medalist. She is also a Blackpool Dance Festival Winner, which is the most prestigious Ballroom dance competition in the world. Together with Denys Drozdyuk, Antonina co-founded a collaborative ballroom dance duet “DNA” – whose goal it is to develop Ballroom dance as a performing art.

Antonina also participated on NBC’s Hit Television Show World of Dance for 2 Seasons and was the finalist on TV Show Revolution in Canada. 

 

Antonina performs frequently as a Guest Artist with the Stars of American Ballet and in various International Ballet Galas, Festivals, and Productions worldwide. Antonina is also the recipient of NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Choreography, CUNY Dance Initiative Residency, and Green Box Arts Residency. Apart from dancing, Antonina has a great passion for acting and she is a graduate of the New York Film Academy. She also teaches workshops and master classes throughout the world.
